What is polyurethane ?

Polyurethane is an excellent alternative to rubber, plastics and metal.

Polyurethane products are tough, abrasion resistant, oil and chemical resistant and non marking.

Polyurethane parts are available in a range of hardness to suit all applications.

Polyurethane is durable and can outlast rubber by up to eight times.

Polyurethane rollers, polyurethane wheels, polyurethane sheets, polyurethane pressure and leak test seals, polyurethane mouldings, rods, blocks and tubes can be produced at our Birmingham West Midlands factory.

Polyurethane has excellent electrical insulating properties

Polyurethane has excellent electrical insulating properties and is used successfully in many moulded wire and cable harness assemblies. Having the ability to be produced in a range of colours and flexibility polyurethane is ideal for use in cable manufacturing.

Continuous use above 225°F is not recommended nor is urethane recommended in hot water over 175°F. At low temperatures, polyurethane will remain flexible down to -90°F. A gradual stiffening will occur at 0°F, but will not become pronounced until much lower temperatures are obtained.

Polyurethane can be produced in a flexible form

Most formulations offer extremely high flex-life and can be expected to outlast other elastomer materials where this feature is an important requirement. Bellows, dust boots, belts, couplings, diaphragms and similar products are made from urethane for this reason.

Polyurethane tear-strength is far superior to rubbers

Polyurethane tear-strength is far superior to rubbers, it ranges between 500-100 Ibs./linear inch.. As a result, urethane is often used as drive belts, diaphragms, roll covers, cutting pads, gaskets and chute liners.

Higher load-bearing capacity

Polyurethane material has a higher load-bearing capacity than any conventional rubber. Because of this characteristic, it is an ideal material for load wheels, heavy duty couplings, metal-forming pads, shock pads, expansion joints and machine mounts.

Polyurethane products are weather resistant

Polyurethane products are weather resistant allowing outside applications. Polyurethane has outstanding resistance to oxygen, ozone, sunlight and general weather conditions.
